ELIGIBILITY CONDITION FOR MARRIAGE REGISTRATION IN DELHI

Following are the eligibility criteria for marriage registration in Delhi :

• Either spouse has a  address proof of Delhi  or the actual wedding took place in Delhi.
• According to the Hindu Marriage Act, both partners in a marriage must be members of one of the following religions: Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh or Jain.
  
• Both parties must be single when applying for marriage certificate.
  
• Both parties must provide their consent  freely and un-afraid in order for it to be legally registered.
  
• Female must be at least 18 years old and male must be at least 21.
  
• Unless the practice is legal, bride and bridegroom cannot come from any form of forbidden relationship.
