Is it Namo effect - UAE has introduced Hindi as language for Driving Licesne test

In a welcome move ,from September Four Indian languages including Hindi can be chosen while appearing for driving tests  in the UAE .

Is it Namo effect ? No, its increasing recognition of Indian Community living in UAE .The Indian community in the UAE, numbering 2.6 million, constitutes 30 per cent of the total population. It is the largest expatriate community in the country. Interestingly ,nearly 40 per cent of the Indian workers in the second largest Arab economy are from the south-Indian state of Kerala.


Till now Lectures and knowledge tests were delivered by The Road and Transport Authority in English, Urdu and Arabic, but now 7 more language got add on i.e. Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, Chinese, Russian and Persian .

To drive on roads of UAE, it is mandatory for all candidates to pass the computer based knowledge test before moving for practical driving classes. The RTA will be introducing text on screen as well as voice over in 11 languages. A system will be developed where a voice will read out the question for a person who cannot read. The 30-minute test includes the text on screen and the voice over .
