A Driving License is an official document certifying that the holder is suitably qualified to drive a motor vehicle or vehicles. Licenses are issued by the Motor Vehicles Department through its Regional and Sub Regional Transport Offices. Any individual attaining an age of 18 year can apply for Driving License. Driving license is issued separately for Light vehicles and Heavy vehicles and for passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles. There are two stages of driving license preparation i.e. preparation of learners license and permanent driving license. Every individual applying for driving license has to first apply for learner license, then at least one month after issuance of learner license, the person can apply for permanent driving license. Permanent Driving License in Delhi -Documents required 1. An effective learner’s license to drive the vehicle of the type to which application relates
2. Proof of residence (Passport,Ration card, Water bill,Voter's identity card ,Gas connection,Bank account statement ) .any one
3. Proof of Age (Passport, Pan Card, High School Certificate ,LIC Policy )
4. Proof of citizenship (Birth certificate , high school certificate , Passport )

Learner Driving License in Gurgaon & Faridabad - Documents required
1. Form No.1 (medical certificate) and blood group.
2. Form No.2 (grant/renewal license) oapplicant photograph and completely fill with signature.
3. Residential Certificate ( voter card/ passport/ telephone/electricity bill/ ration card etc attach any two attested copies
4 Birth Certificate (Age) (Minimum age 18 years) (M.C. birth certificate, school certificate, PAN card and birth certificate issued from Civil
Surgeon attach attested copies.)
5. Self declaration certificate.
6. Two passport size photographs
Permanent Driving License in Gurgaon & Faridabad - Documents required
1. Form No.4 (license to drive motor vehicle) applicant photograph and completely fill with signature and duly passing by the Police Dy.

Renewal of Driving LicenseRenewal of Driving License is required before expiry of driving licence validity. The driving license renewal process is similar to getting permanent driving license i.e. the person may not have to undergo the process of learners license preparation and driving test. Renewable of driving license requires the applicant to visit to concerned RTO department for Photo and signature.
