What is a vehicle NOC 

RTO issues NOC for vehicle so that it can be registered in the jurisdiction of another RTO area.

If a vehicle has received a NOC from a Regional Transport Office where it was initially registered, the vehicle is eligible for registration in other RTO as long as all necessary clearances were received. This certifies that the vehicle is  without any liability to pay challans, dues or taxes to the existing RTO.

You won’t need vehicle NOC if you are not planning to stay at your transferred location for longer duration. 

Who should apply for a vehicle NOC 

Anyone who plans to move to another state for a time period that is more than one year or twelve months requires vehicle NOC.

So, if moving to another state or city along with bike or car, make sure that you have the NOC of your vehicle.

It is also necessary to get an NOC for the vehicle from the RTO when you are selling your vehicle to someone who lives in another state.

Through this process, your parent RTO will be able to remove the vehicle from their databases.

How to get NOC for two-wheeler offline ?

Following are the steps to get NOC : 

• To begin the NOC process, you (the vehicle owner) need to visit the local RTO personally.

• You need to ask for form 28, which you should duly fill. You would be asked to provide basic details such as your name, address, contact number, vehicle registration number, driving license number and so on.
  

• The completed form should be submitted along with the documents mentioned in the form.
  

• You also have to pay a small fee along with the application form.
  

• After you submit the application, the RTO gets in touch with the local police to verify whether or not your vehicle has been involved in any traffic law violations or criminal case in the past.

• In the absence of any outstanding dues or Department Statutory Action (DSA) cases pending against your bike, the RTO obtains a clearance and your NOC is issued.​
  

​Will my vehicle’s registration in the parent RTO be valid if I get NOC to move my vehicle from one state to another but do not complete the process of re-registration?

Ans : Vehicle's registration in parent RTO is not valid, once NOC for the vehicle is issued. You can not approach RTO for any service like duplicate RC, fitness, ownership transfer. Its advisable to re-register the vehicle to new RTO as soon as possible. If RC or NOC gets lost in between , its very complicated scenario .  

Is crime report mandatory for getting NOC of the vehicle? Will I have to arrange it myself or Itzeazy will arrange it me ?

Is NOC required for bike in Maharashtra?

Ans : You can ride bike in another state for maximum of 1 year period as per motor vehicle act. After this period its compulsory to re-register the bike. 

What to do if the NOC of a bike expired?

Ans : NOC of a bike never expires. However you need to register your bike in the next RTO within 1 month from the date of issue of NOC. After 1 month there is late fine of Rs. 300 per month. So, its advisable to re-register bike as soon as possible.
